Thanks for the JBR Steve, had to laugh about your rat situation.
We had an encounter with a rat in our room at The Grand Mirage about 4 years ago. The first night we were there asleep in our room, it was my husband and 3 & 4 year old children at the time. Anyway my husband and I woke to a rustling sound in the room at about midnight and when we turned the light on there was a rat eating all our mini bar items, my husband then chased it into the bathroom and closed the door this rat was enormous. We called reception and they sent the engineer up, when we met him at the door he came with a broom and a can of fly spray and when he looked at the rat who at this time now was sitting on the bathroom vanity he nearly had a heart attack and then moved us to another room, thank god LOL.
