Booked with Nicno, great service and prices.
Flew with Garuda, supposed to be direct both ways but via Sydney to Melb. at the last moment. Not to much of a problem to put up with!
This trip was Myself (Bob) Regina, my wife and our 26 yaer old son Dean who has very slight disabilites and limited vocabulary to about 20 words but still can hold a social conversation. Dean adores Bali and those who have meet Dean just adore him
Stayed at the Barong Hotel for the first time and I must say it was a pleasant hotel with a mix of many nationalities from europe as well as few Austalians. Occupancy was 30 to 55 percent as was the Bounty hotel with Hard Rock 17 percent. We
Bali is quiet but not as quiet as I expected, it is noticable that there are more Europeans than Australians on the streets and in the restaurants.
3 days at the Hidden Paradise Hotel in Amed up on the East coast, wow... what a Paradise in Paradise Amed is.! our experience was like Kuta 30 years ago, all meals are made from scratch when you order and so you learn to order a little earlier if you are hungry, with mostly local dishes on offer. Snorkelling was great quality with a big variety of fish and coral. Not for shoppers tho as there are only local goods for sale, no watches or sunnies here!!! We will go back for a week next trip.
Restaurants we ate at and not a bad meal any where
Kori in Kuta, our favourite, 3 nights
Pappas 1 night, Bubba Gumps 1 night, Warung 96 1 night, Jegeg Bulan 3 times, The Balcony 2 nights, Brith Warung Amed 1 night, Warung Indra Amed 1 night, Hidden Pardise Hotel 1 night and the best in Amed, Menega at Jimbaran 2 nights. Bali Corner in Poppies 2 where we had many snacks and lunches.
Bike Riding from Kintamani to Ubud, we covered 18 kilometers in just on 2 hrs with a few stops on the way and a very enjoyable experience
specially for Dean.
Sammie and Sussies only 2 nights but as always very enjoyable and great to meet other fourumites, specialy Nicno who has booked our last couple of trips and now we know what she looks like instead of just a voice on the phone!!!! and the residents at S&S, Smudge/Made/Elu and Jeff and it was nice to Sammie and Sussie looking so well.
Shopping, well this being our 30th trip to Bali we don't buy much
but still managed to purchase 22 kilos worth of goods after off loading 26 kilos of things we took over for the Balinese.
Cheers to all and we hope you all return to Bali soon.
Bob, Reg and Dean
