Hey all;

Yesterday was hot and just as it should be in Bali.
My Aussie mate (who doesnt want to be revealed ??) and myself went out spending some cash yesterday.
First shopping in Kuta then out to Sanur's Sindhu beach markets.
Originally we were only thinking about only going to Tootsie's and Jenny's fixed price shops but do you think we could find them.
As soon as the taxi stopped we were bombarded with "Mr you come to my shop yes" and litrally stalked and hounded through the markets copping the odd.
"Oh so "very slow now no money" and "Dont have customer my shop 2 weeks already" with the very frequent "Hey where you go"
On a hot day when you don't really like shopping at the best of times it can be a real pain in the Ass but it is par for the coarse here so we just smile and keep walking and try to be funny with them.
This usually works here but yesterday we did have to go to a few shop just to get a couple of the old ladies to leave us alone.
We did get some bargains though so it was not so bad just a bit tiring, saying "no thank you" "already have""Dont need another 1 more tee-shirt" etc.
We had a great seafood meal on Sanur beach in a garden resturant where the grilled snapper was bloody Bagus as they say here.
After lunch by the time we found Jenny's and Tootsie's fixed price shops we already had about 10 bloody shopping bags full of cloths,Dvd's etc that we had trouble finding much in each shop that we really wanted but we did get some copy Reeboks, more shorts, cushion covers and some silver too.
All shopped out after this and no being able to carry anything else we struggled our way up to the main street after getting lost on the way out and walking for bloody miles!
Eventually we walked through the big "Grand Bali beach" hotel which is pretty Swish and is well worth a look to see where the other half stay.
I said tomy mate when we got back to Legian (70,000 rups) later that we probably deserved a Bintang after all that shopping stress and we headed off to Sammi and Suzies for a bintang or 7.
The usual criminals where there plus a few and I think Sammi must have made a buck or two yesterday as he grinned and chugged away on one of his own Bintangs.
Had dinner and dropped my mate of and went out to the Sante Fe club for another party night.
The place was rocking again as usual as I chatted with an old girlfrind from
years ago.
Needless to say later that night we had to become re-aquanted once more.
Another top night in Bali that went off with a big bang!
Damn I love this place.
Stay tuned for more as it happens from Bali!
Brian
