Don't be too worried about Bali because credit card fraud can and does occur in any country.
Back in 2000 I got a call from ANZ asking me if I had enjoyed my holiday in Korea!!!. I'd never been there however, there were 6 purchases totalling around $7000 on my statement and I subsequently discovered that my card had been "skimmed" in a Sydney restaurant (along with many others) and purchases were occuring throughout Korea.
ANZ were brilliant and it was all squared away without loss to me. I was told that the merchants in Korea were the ultimate losers. ANZ and most Banks have a dept dedicated to this type of fraud and their system alerts that dept to any irregular debits on a users card.
Two things come out of this, 1) always keep your card in hand or in your view and (to avoid a legitimate purchase o'seas being rejected by your bank) 2) let your bank know if you are going overseas.
