Sounds like it is safer to get a cash advance from an ATM, rather than do it in a bank! (who knew!). There are lots of ATMs everywhere in the popular areas of Bali. I take a Visa debit card with me, so even if someone did steal my details, they can't spend more than what is in my savings account, which towards the end of my trip is not much!! I keep a credit card for emergencies, in case I lose the other or an ATM eats it.
