We just returned from Bali to Melbourne with a 5 month, 5 year and 7 year old. I have never given my children any medication to travel with and they have all been going to Bali since they were 15 months. I ensure I have their milk, juice or pacifier ready for take off and then take it as it comes as its really out of my control how they will react each time. If the baby has had a recent nose or throat infection I would be likely to give demazin ( if they have had it before) on the advice of a doctor so it does help with decongestion. My 5 month old slept only an hour on the way over but slept all the way home as it was night time. If he didnt sleep I wouldve spent time with him up the front of the plane if he was a disturbance otherwise we wouldve just sat and waited for the trip to be over. With our older children we always take a bag full of things to do and that seems to make the time pass very quickly. You might find the baby sleeps the whole trip anyway without medications, goodluck and have a great trip. The balinese certainly love children and that always makes the holiday much easier and more fun for the kids.
