Hi Chris, we sponsered our little girl through the Carolia Charity here in Mandurah as we decided that it would be good to have someone to have a representitive there on hand all the time so that we can send stuff to her anytime also we can receive letters that are translated in English & visa versa to us. It is very cheap with every cent accounted for as well & she is taken either to the beach or to a hotel given a lunch & plus fruit, a parcel(clothes that fit them,toiletries, etc:,school supplies), play games with all the other Kids for a full day, & they get transported to & from the party. This happens twice a year. I believe the child has to be recommended as poor, this is done by the Rep: who visits the family to ensure that the Parents are not gamblers, drunks etc: also to verify that the child wants to learn. I feel that our girl is just that "our girl". We know that she is now very well cared for. I do hope this helps in some way for anyone that wants to help children & families of the poor in Bali.
