Hi, I should be the expert!! I did everything wrong when i purchased a bike (twice in fact) Firstly I purchased a Honda 400CC, which was not my intention, but my friend came back with a bike he thought would be suitable, ha ha, secondly, I was told you cannot purchase one in your own name, it has to be in Indo name on registrasi, and for "big" bikes there seems to be two papers involved, my problems came when i tried to sell it. After three months I finally traced the seller , who buys and sells bikes in Kuta from Java. I told him my tale of woe and low and behold the original papers were still with him and rego had not been changed from original owners nameinto the next sellers name, or then into my "friends" name. Confused?? so was I. Anyway, to cut a very long story short, he helped me out by putting it in his name (trust again, no choice) and then helped me sell it to a waiter from Ku De Ta!! very exhausting. This gentleman and he was, did not charge me a rupiah for his help, he just saied he would kill anyone who trieed to scam his mum, so would look after me and he did. Now, I edid buy a new Suzuki from a dealer in Denpasar and again it had to be registered in Indo name, this time I was lucky, and when I left, they bought it from me. Having said all this, I have just remembered, an Aussie guy who lived next to me and who lives also in Melbourne, is going back soon to sell up a lot of things and he has a motorbike he wants to sell. I think he wants about 11 million, I have seen it, dont know brand, but good condition and another Aussie friend wanted it but it was 15 mill. then.
