and took advice from others on the forum to shop around. I tried an agent in Bali, the online sites already mentioned, and then went to the hotel (bu email) with my best price. They cut another 10% off.
Price went from starting at US$135 to AUD$110. Still a splurge, but much more moderate!
So I'd reinforce the advice to shop around, as it seems there is no "rule" on who will have the best price.
