The old Scout's saying - be prepared. You've made a really good start by joining this forum. Read what experiences others have had and take advice. If the Balinese were not so wonderful, we wouldn't love them so much and keep going back.
We have been sooooooo embarrassed by "ugly Australians" that show absolutely no respect for the people or their culture that we (generally) avoid Kuta all together (but we ARE a bit older too).
