I live in Lombok so I am biased. Bali is definitely more developed & offers more "tourist attractions" but you should give Lombok more than three days. It would take you that alone to trek Rinjani, Indonesia's second higest peak. There are the Gilis as already mentioned, I could spend days there alone enjoying the snorkelling.
A couple of days around Senaru treking to the waterfalls & enjoying the views. Senggigi if you are looking for some nightlife, Sapit & Tetabatu again for relaxing, enjoying the views & getting to know the locals, the monkey forest if you enjoy animals, Mataram for the hussle & bussle of the city & down south finally to my domain of Kuta, with all the stunning beaches around, Mawun, Are Guling, Tanjung Aan, Segar.
Seeing the Gilis isnt seing Lombok. There is much more to the island than that. Give it a chance!
