.... Picked up around lunch time by Ketut my friends driver and Bali manager of their villa Dewi Sri. Had only viewed the villa before on the website so keen to see it.
The villa is at Canggu just near Seminyak turned off the main road and down the usual small gang into a beautiful setting complete with fishpond and turtles.
The villa is comprised of the main house with 3 bedrooms and i think 3 or more bathrooms then a small separate villa area near the entrance in a walled area with 2 bedrooms bathroom and its own plunge pool.
The villa is mostly open plan with all the mod cons looking out onto a beautiful pool and then with the ricefields as the backdrop . Apparently this is part of the green belt and cant be built on which hopefully wont change.
Not sure exactly how many staff there are but all very friendly and busy making a great indo lunch. Had sates,spring rolls,rice,fruits etc etc. the good thing is the balinese staff seemed. so happy as my friends are some of the nicest people you would meet and treat them well.
Had a great lunch complete with a few bottles wine and lots of chatting to catch up on everything. Leanne told me she actually cried when they bought a lawn mower for the gardening staff and saw their appreciation.. which i could just imagine.
Few hours and few more drinks later headed back to Patra with everyone coming in to see staff and sellers on beach as had known my friends for years. Unfortunately only got to catch up the once as friends leaving the next day.
Time for another swim and as almost happy hour time for cocktail. Hadnt caught up with my friend Cathy and boys think she was paying 10 times the price for everything down at Kuta..
Met up with an older Aust couple and couple from Canada who asked us out for dinner oh well get changed off again to Hard Rock. Bit daunting out front security guys dogs etc. Hannahs face priceless when Marilyn Manson look a like shows us in. Due to noise inside sat on the back balcony with views into the hotel which looked extremely quiet. Hannah obviously tired asleep at table without eating until we leave. Meal quite good and large servings but little more expensive..
