a very good Doctor that is somewhere in Tuban that her family who live there go to.She also said she & her own immediate family had been to him & that he was very competant & charged reasonable prices.Might be worthwhile if she sees posts this info again.
BTW - Bali isn't the only place what you mentioned happens.If you are an Australian with private medical cover ( that you pay a small fortune for ) you often still have to pay an excess for hospital or medical treatment but if you only have Medicare depending on the procedures or treatment performed you can get the exact same treatment at NO charge !
The same as with car or household insurance claims - if you tell a company you want the work done through your insurance comapny an inflated price is charged vs IF you say you are personally paying or will pay cash you get quoted a far lower figure.
It is really the same the whole world over - it's just a case of to what degree or extent this happens.
