I just take a very large sports type bag - zips and pockets everywhere (so not good for those who worry about security), and I take a wheely type hand luggage for breakables. I have found the large sports bag when really full weighs just under 20kgs - perfect for me. One tip for those who tend to shop a lot - I think excess is now around $US20 per kilo, so just think how much you could buy with what you pay in excess baggage, maybe some of the heavy stuff works out not so cheap after all if you factor the excess in.
