He has been married for several years to a Balinese girl. The marriage is legal under both Indonesian and Australian law. They own a house and have a 5 year old son. Dayu is what you could call well connected by family. Nothing makes any difference, it would be very difficult for Ron to work there.

He comes to Perth occasionally and does contract work. Now and again he gets accused by immigration people of running a business in Bali. This is nonsense and they know it. They are just trying [unsuccessfully] to get money out of him.
