Recently flew back with Garuda and they have cracked down.
You will most probably get away with 25kgs each, and alittle over 7kgs in carry on (try not to look loaded up with carry on luggage). I am not sure what your loaded up with, but if its just regular Bali shopping - and you have lots of DVD's, make sure they arent in the black plastic cases (150 of these equals 9 1/2kgs), duty free bags come in handy and are sort of ignored by checkin, so aquire one or two of those each.
We had 27kgs/30kgs and when we got questioned (first time in 10 trips) we said "we dont have any money except for alittle ruphia if that will help", after some stalling the check in guy said he will meet us upstairs outside the departure gate (and proceeded to checkin our luggage), we happily gave him rp150 000. This was what we were advised to say from long time Balinese friend.
How much luggage have you got???Most hotel receptions have scales that you can borrow.....oh another tip is pack your stuff into "BALI BAGS" those colorful printed tote bags with the zip in various sizes, they weight absolutly nothing (my suitcase is 5kg empty!!!).
