When i was living over there last year, I used local internet cafes, just one street back from Jl Legian off Majapahit, and the mot it cost for 7,500 rph. They are much dearer in the main drags, just ask a local and go where they go, if you are just checking emails and only going to be on for an hour noand then, you will find plenty. My daughter was doing part of her uni in Melb. course on line so we had to find cheap places. The local cafes were great,no air con though, but really helpful and became a bit of a social thing, taking bintangs to share if we were using late at night, sitting outside after we had finished, a couple of the boys playing guitar at midnight, drinking and eating mie, how I miss it.
