Staff at Kodak money changer in Discovery Mall (ground floor) attempted three weeks ago to keep 210.000 (!) Rupiahs for herself when I was changing a 100 Euro note, a transaction which should have resulted in my receiving 1.005.000 Rupiahs according to the receipt. Nice try - not.
Luckily I was there with a Balinese friend who told the attendant what her actions might do to tourism in Bali. My friend was very upset and afterwards it was he (!) who appologised to me.
I, however, went there again as it was in a convenient location for changing money, as I did not think they would dare to try the same trick twice.
Then I (!) got way too much money for another 100 Euro note. There were mutual smiles when I promptly returned the surplus and I never had a problem there again, rather the contrary as it was "all smiles".
However, I recommend customers to always be careful and count as well as recount the received bundle of Rupiah notes at all times.
