Hi Simone,
My name is Claire and I was married in Bali last October (a couple of days after the bombing).
We had originally planned on getting married at Ku de Ta, and it was all booked and partially paid for, but after the bombs Ku de Ta and the Oberoi area was reportedly unsafe so we decided to get married at The Villas in Seminyak where we were already staying. It was amazing! The team at The Villas, particularly a guy called Ketut completely replanned our wedding in 2 days.
I was more stressed than I had ever been, we had guests calling us from home upset and telling us they weren't coming because of the bombs, other guests begging us to come home and forget about getting married in Bali, and all in all it couldn't have gotten much worse for us.
The team at The Villas put us at ease, made us feel safe and took it all out of our hands. On the day it was perfect - we used the Prana Spa courtyard for the ceremony (just amazing) and our villa for the reception. We had delicious finger food, a fabulous seafood BBQ for dinner and just used the stereo in the villa for the music. We got gorgeous floral decorations from Michael at Heliconia and Dominik from d-imijis did our photos. Everything was just wonderful.
If you decided to use The Villas you'd need to ask for villa 21 which is a three bedroom, and it's the one we used, they have a great website if you want to check it out.
I'm not sure exactly how much we ended up spending (kind of don't want to think about it) but I think this would fit into your price range. I'm sure that the wedding food and beverage package was really cheap though, and that we were pleasantly surprised.
The Villas are walking distance from the main shopping strip in Seminyak and you can keep walking from there into Legian. I would highly recommend it. Feel free to ask if you'd like any further info. We will have been married for six months in a couple of days, so it's quite nice for me to be re-living it all!!
