Have been told (in no uncertain terms) by the Boss (Jen) that I forgot to mention the Dynasty Spa ... She thinks it might be nice for the forumites in general get it from a mans point of view.

Really nice place, set in a separate villa down the back of the Dynasty in a nice secluded area. We usually go there for a couples massage (not what your thinking), where both of us are in the same room getting a massage at the same time (ok then, it is what you were thinking). There are several packages to choose from, but we chose the 'Dynasty Turbo' ... whoops, that's a cocktail. We chose the 'Dynasty something-or-other' which goes for about 2 hours all up. They get you to strip off and get into this pair of paper undies, and the first thing you get is a foot wash and scrub. Usually when we do the massage thing, I have a woman doing me (massage), but at this point a guy (Made) is doing my feet. Never been massaged by a guy before, so this will be interesting. Anyway, after the foot scrub, we get face down on the table, and await our masseuse/masseur to return. Jen gets her lady back, and my guy has been replaced with a woman (phew) ... our kids babysitter !! Katie is great, our kids love her (She took them to the Dynasty's 15th birthday party where the management were serving the staff), and we've had her look after them ever time we've been in at the Dynasty. But lets face it, having her babysit our kids, and having her massage me are two entirely different things. Not bad, just different. And, as it turns out, she's an excellent masseuse (That's been her main gig for ages, babysitting is an extra).

So, to recap, here's me, practically naked, getting a full body massage from my kids babysitter.

I have to admit, it's a really nice setting. Incense burning, Balinese music playing softly in the background, wife mostly naked beside me ... doesn't get much better !! Anyway, after getting a good, relaxing, massage (wont go into specifics, we've all had massages), we are covered with the body scrub stuff, and then covered with a sarong. We chose the traditional Balinese body scrub, which looks like baby poo, smells great, but feels like liniment. First cold, then gets hotter, and hotter, then settles down a bit. After about 30 mins, they come back in and use a (correct me if I'm wrong Jen) cucumber wash to get the stuff off, then they roll you over and do the same for the back half.

After that, its off to the shower and rose petal bath ... Woo Hoo ....

It's a separate room that you can lock yourself into. Its basically one of those semi-outdoor bathrooms with a circular marble bath filled with warm water and rose petals ... very romantic. Now I could get too personal here, and tell you what we got up to before we actually got in the bath, but I wont. What I do have to say is that while getting into the bloody bath, I slipped, and nearly broke my bloody neck. There was much splashing and cursing, and a small voice from the reception area 'are you alright Mr Poyda?' ... How they knew it was me and not Jen is still beyond me. Maybe I just look unco ... Anyway, after a nice double bath, pesky rose petals (they look great until you have to actually get in the bath with them, then they just stick to everything), next to a small pile of paper undies that are stained with what looks like baby poo, we are finished and totally relaxed. Seriously, it is a really nice relaxing experience. We'll do it again next time for sure ... A wonderful way to end our stay in the Land of the Gods
