We always round taxis up to the nearest 5,000 and as we use taxis alot when we are there we feel this is fair. With restaurants it depends on how many of us have dined. As we are usually with a group of between 6 and 10 5,000 - 10,000 per person is usually given as dealing with larger groups can sometimes be a bit of a chore. At our regular lunch restaurants we usually again round up to the nearest 10,000 rupiah. Our way of thinking is that the food is cheap enough and if we where eating at home we would be paying 3 - 4 times more, so a $1.00 here or there is more than affortable for us.
