We stayed there a couple of years ago and are heading back in june. We have also stayed at the padma, legian beach hotel, kumala pantai and quite a few others. The melasti is good value for money - it is 3 star so obviously no comparison to the padma. But to be honest we didnt like the feel of the padma - the room was beautiful and breakfast was to die for but the hotel itself didnt do much for us.
The mbr rooms are clean, well air conditioned, big and as i say for value for money i doubt you will be disappointed. We stay in the old suite rooms we prefer the location and they are close to the beach. Breakfast is OK - I think this trip we might venture out a few times.
