just before getting on the flight everybody was given a pretty thorough and a tad invasive (I thought) pat down in the open area. I thought that it was a bit ridiculous because i dont think that a terrorist would be likely to slip a gun or a stick of gelignite down their bra or in their pocket, though of course there were a few jokes about dynomite etc with my partner having his penis brushed over ;). I also thought that to do it in the open area would likely put other passengers at risk if someone did have a gun and a violent situation developed.
