I have to smile a little when re-entering Aus. and I look at the number of AQIS staff on hand at the airport.
Most of the nasty stuff that finds its way into Australia comes through our wharves. AQIS are that under-staffed on the waterfront that they cannot stop the tidal wave of bugs, insects, snails, fleas, rats, mice, unidentified creatures, you-name-it that migrate "illegally" into Aus. Where do these creatures come from? Underneath or in containers. Even though they do check them now, millions of containers beforehand, were delivered into Australia un-checked.
What's not driven out into suburbia via trucks and trains, either crawls, swims, flies or runs out under the cyclone wire fences.
