Just came back last week and haven't noticed anyone mention the new check in procedures. After getting in the doors (x-ray) before you can check in and get boarding card there are about 3 or 4 security people that check all your bags (suitcases, hand luggage and handbags) with the explosive wipey thing. They make you open your suitcases so make sure you have the keys handy, also people that had had their suitcases plastic wrapped outside were cut open at the padlock/zip end and then checked. Apparently they then re-wrap them for you. Then when you get into the departure lounge (x-ray again) they also have a man and a woman that pat you down, back & front and other people that check your hand luggage and handbags (he also unzipped my travel wallet and looked inside) while you are told to "stand back from the table". After that you can go and sit down and wait to board.
