her name was Kadek Ayu...in an area called Busungbiu..about a two hour drive from Pacung through Tabanan. An exquisite drive though through some very pretty terrain. Kadek is only 23 years old. She is very beautiful and didn't want to be a Balian or have the gift. Gifted she was!!!! Her mother also is a Balian. She succumbed to accepting her gift though. If she didn't practice she always became ill. It was an amazing personal experience. No pain involved at all.She refuses to charge and even told me next time not bring any offerings. They were returned to me along with the cash. A true spiritualist in my humble opinion should not charge anyway and I was even more impressed when my offering was returned.She is a gentle soul and put me in touch with my Mother who died of un-natural causes some years ago. It was painful in as much as it was emotional, but I did feel at peace afterwards.As usual, the whole family became involved in chit chat afterwards and we walked up the road to Grandmothers house. I was embarrassed as they insisted on the usual Balinese generosity and ladened me gifts of jamu to make me strong and all sorts of snacks. No lunch was required by yours truly that day...A day I will never forget.
