magazine and site have a number of features on local Bali gardens. It does take a bit more planning than just throwing in some statues, flags and a hut. Look at plants you like, such as gingers, cannas, bromeliads, flaxes, bamboos and palms. Think if you want seating or a pond, shade areas, or a raised area.
It take a bit of time but with some thought it can look fantastic and not overly expensive.
If you can't afford some garden design books,try your local library
