I've bought a gong and other gamelan instruments at a couple of villages that specialise in gamelan, one is the village of tihingan (bronze & copper gongs) (nearKlungkung which would only be 45 minute drive from Ubud) and the other is the village of sawan (east of Singaraja in the north) and there is a gamelan shop in Dempasar but I'm not sure of the address, sorry. It's great to buy them in the villages as you can see where they have been made. Hope you get your gong!
