- we were asked to show that our mountain of stuff really was for charitable donations. This was a first in over a dozen trips.
We were able to convince the 'boss' who came to check us out with the books of business cards that we collect. These included one from the Pimpinin at the Negara orphanage and a letter head from the old folks home in Denpasar, Seksi Pelayanan Lanjut Usia 'Wana Seraya'.
We also had the names of the various organisations written on each box/bag, including the name Panti Asuhan Al Islam, an Islamic orphanage in Denpasar. It was fairly obvious that this name made a lot of difference, more than any of the others, and allowed us to pass with the admonition to get letters from the recipients so that we can show them next time we came to Bali.
