I have been taking clothes and distributing them in Bali for many years now. I believe that the best way is to stack as many clothes in your bag as you can and distribute them as you see fit.
I usually take a small backpack of my stuff and a large sports bag full of clothes to be donated, usually approx 100 items. I then fill the empty bag up with Bali stuff to bring home. So it worlk both ways I get to donate the clothes and still spend money on the local clothes.
I too have explored the possibilities of sending bulk clothes and also medical supplies, however, I kept running into dead ends. So now I just take the clothes that I can fit in my luggage.
It is mainly kids clothes and the locals are very excited to receive them.
Keep up the good work guys, and if anyone is thinking about taking clothes and giving them out in Bali it is a great idea.
Regards,
Dave
