• Background - Family of 5, Myself (Paul), wife (Jennifer), daughter (Victoria 10), sons (Zachary 6 & Alexander 5) from Perth, arrived 21st December

• 8th. For those following the progress of Zac, he woke after having a good sleep. He was his normal self and did not show any effects from yesterday. Jen thought we would wait until later in the day before returning to the Clinic for a check up. After seeing Zac this morning, we knew that there should be no further need for tests. Before the accident, we had planned another DimSum lunch followed by massages for Jan and myself as well as hair cream baths for the girls. We decided to pass on Dim Sum lunch but keep our booking with the Gren Garden Spa for my massage and the girls hair cream bath. Jen wanted to stay with Zac and on my return, I would take him to the Clinic. While I was away, our insurance company rang and asked Jennifer if she would like a second opinion from International SOS. She agreed and they said that everything would be organised. By the time I returned to the hotel, she was already in an ambulance with Zac which had been organised by Insurance/International SOS and she was off. She indicated that this shouldn't take long and we should see if we could arrange to have our special dinner tonight. (The Dynasty offers special Saturday night romantic dinners up by the Lazy pool area. Adults only area. You get a three course deluxe meal and a free bottle of wine for rp300000. As no one else had booked, I had organised our table to be on top of the Sunset bar. It's a sort of lookout area on top of a bar area where you can overlook the main pool area as well as catch glimpses of the ocean & sunset. They do it up really nicely with flags, umbrellas & flowers (Our friends enjoyed the same thing for their wedding anniversary the day we arrived). I had organised one for her last night but had to be cancelled) It wasn't too long before Jen and Zac returned. No more tests but we would have to return the morning of the day we were leaving for a final check up. Everything was good. The hotel had been very understanding in our request for another chance at our special romantic dinner and had set up the table beautifully on top of the Sunset Bar. Our friends Anita & Karl offered to babysit and we got ready for dinner. Absolutely fantastic, we had Darmadi as our own personal waiter, the three course meal was delicious and served spectacularly in Five star style, which was quite unexpected. Overlooking the pool and ocean from our high vantage spot was brilliant and in the end it is all done at a reasonable price. We did rush through it a little and finished up after only a few hours. We retrieved the kids and retired for the evening.
• 9th. Now today we had planned for our second visit to Waterbom but of course Zac was not allowed near water. Jen stayed with Zac and I went with Victoria & Alexander for a couple of hours. She was planning to take Zac PS2 game shopping. I managed, mind you after much pleading and insisting that I speak to the manager, to get a refund for the two unused tickets even though they are not supposed to offer refunds. Luckily a storm was fast coming in around lunch time which gave me a good excuse to cut our visit short. As it was raining, we jumped in a taxi, even though it is only a short walk, and caught up with Jen & Zac at the DVD shop across the road from the Dynasty. The kids went bizerk on PS2 and DVD's. We decided to have lunch at Daddys, only customers again which again was enjoyable. Back to the hotel to drop off goodies and we were off again. This time to Centro. The intentions were to look at shoes, bags and sunglasses for Jen. In the end it was me who bought most of the stuff. I usually get a new suit made for work with some extra pants for around $100. Fortunately I can select off the rack so we picked up 7 trousers, 7 business shirts including Pierre Cardin, 7 Italian silk ties and a new tie pin for under $300. Brilliant and all good quality stuff. Jen didn't pick up anything, so feeling really guilty, I suggested we go back to the hotel get an early nights sleep and head out early in the morning. On heading back to the hotel, Jen decided she would look at one final DVD shop (and how many times do we say that) and I took the kids back to hotel and into bed while Jen returned a little later with yet more DVD's. Another reason for an early night was that we knew tomorrow night was going to be our last and a big night had been planned.
