Hi, it is a while since I first joined this forum and posted my first message. We had just booked to go to Bali (2 days before the October 2005 bomb)and that was three months ago. I have forgotton a lot of the information that was given to me at the time but as it is now only 6 months until we go (I know it is a while away yet but if I keep saying only 6 more months then it sounds closer) I will have to start storing all the information up. We have never been to Bali before (we being myself and my husband) and are staying at the Bali Hyatt for 13 nights from 25 July and then on to Singapore for 3 nights in the Marina Mandarin Hotel before returning back to England. We have been thinking about the things we would like to do whilst in Bali. the definits are the monkey forest, seeing the elephants and possibly a ride on one(!), Kuta, Ubud, Nusa Dua and any other places that you forum members could suggest. We are not very daring people (dare not go white water rafting and stuff such as that, bit wimpish to say the least). Any good reliable drivers with good clean cars that could be recommended would also be appreciated. Also the prices of items, mainly things such as food and drink and any suggestions of good restaurants, etc would also be very helpful. Can anyone also suggest an amount for eating and drinking each day to allow. We are having breakfast at the hotel (we are staying in a Regency Club room at the Bali Hyatt) so it is just a case of lunch and evening meal, also we (especially my husband) does like a drink or few and is looking forward to trying the Bintang you all speak of on this forum. Anyway we would appreciate any information that you can give us. I know there is still 6 months but as it is our first time there we want everything to be ok. Also what would you suggest about bringing money in - would you suggest bringing in all sterling or us dollars or Bali money changed over in the UK, travellers cheques or just credit and bank cards?
