We stay at the Rama Garden just across the road from Lokah so we are familiar with most of the places near where you'll be staying. I suggest you take him to Billy's Bar in Garlic lane, the guys there are fantastic to have a laugh and a bit of fun with no matter what age you are We have had many good times there and when we took our 5 & 7 yr olds there late 2005 they had great fun playing with they guys and teaching them naughty things and being taught naughty things (all in fun.
Another thing which my dad and my husband say is a must do (I haven't yet, I went on a girly day out) is white water rafting they both said it was heaps of fun and you really get to see many things you just don't get to see if you stick around the touristy spots. My husband said you get to see the real Bali, the old Bali, he loved it. The video looks as thought they had lots of fun too.
