about two years ago, there was an elephant died because of lack knowledge how to look after the elephants. Most balinese don't know how to look after this creature, because they come from sumatra, however, the people that has to work to look after this elephant is not there anymore, that is why they don't know the elephant in serius illness. Taro is better that bakas. And in Ayung you will find all the guide for the elephant is not local balinese, so they know what they are doing. If I could suggest, you visit the ayung elephant park, they are closer to kuta, more beautiful view, more relax and fun. They are not in a hurry like the one in Taro.
