Go to Paradiso hotel in Kuta to the garuda office. Do this one or two days before you fly out. Tell them you want to upgrade to business class and do City check-in.
You can pay by credit card -[to adelaide was $350.00]. If you request to do the City check-in they will allocate your seat and if you go early enough in the day you can also get your boarding pass. I went back and got my boarding pass the next morning as I had gone around 3.30pm. [Also ask them to write down the Garuda operations phone number at the airport for you to call so you can check about possible delayed departure times the evening you are leaving.] My flight was delayed 4 times eventually leaving some 3 hours later.
If you do this, as you have your boarding pass when you arrive at the airport all you have to do is check your luggage in at the business class check-in counter, go thru immigration and then go sit in the executive lounge and relax with a drink and some food. The garuda lounge located is between gates 6 & 7.
I found it to be excellent value and would recommend it to anyone who can afford the upgrade...cheers :-)
