On my last return flight from Bali with Australian Airlines, the captain made an announcement that we would be making a slower, more gradual descent into Sydney as a child on-board had a severe ear infection.
During the decent I could hear the agonising screams from a young child, at the same time hearing the fathers voice trying to offer some comfort, speaking the words "I'm sorry, I'm sorry". It was really gut-wrenching!
Of course, unless in extreme circumstances should no child be put through this experience.
Thought it worth a mention if anyone ever has such an emergency and good on A.A. for coming to the rescue I thought.
