You are always going to get the ultra-conservative armchair tourist too afraid to go anywhere. Surveys are not worth the paper they're written on. The media keeps churning out depressive stories because misery sells.
Those who have been to Bali before know that the risk of anything happening to us is small - no better or worse than anywhere else. I can understand the Balinese being worried. It's sad, but a fact that terrorism has adversly affected tourism there - probably forever.
There is not much the average tourist can do except keep going to Bali, be supportive to each other & to the Balinese & keep them in our prayers.
