Bebek Bengil was a big disappointment the last time we were there however, it was a great place to eat and may well have improved. The setting is excellent and can be found near the junction of JL's Monkey Forest and Hanuman. further down Hanuman toward Tegal Sari there is the new "Warung Enak" (sister rest to "Lemak" in JL Monkey Forest) . We dined there last August and were treated to one of the best ever meals we've had in Bali.

Others that come to mind are "Indus" a little way out of town on JL Raya Ubud and near the road bridge on the same JL is Murnis Warung. Casa Luna has a good reputation (both it and Indus) come from the Janet De Neefe Org).

We came across a great little place at 49 Jl Hanuman called "L'Arbe a' Plumes",it's French Mediterranean in cuisine but also serves local fare. This place is small and is also a bookshop/Library. We thoroughly enjoyed the place and highly recommend it as a different place to try.

Others to try are Bali Buddha and on the other side of Monkey Forest in Nyuh Kuning there is a gret lunch place called Kafe Copper - Belgian owned. There are a plethora of places in JL Monkey Forest so take a walk up and down and there will be plenty of choices.
