I know exactly where you are coming from frazzled. Its been almost a year for me as well and I am really longing to get back there. Did have travel planned for March but it unfortunately had to be postponed to May due to my partners work committments.
Forums like this are a great place to come and capture the feeling of being there but nothing really replaces the real thing.
You will enjoy a holiday on the Gold Coast. Its a fantastic place to visit. The beaches, the theme parks and the lifestyle there are all fantastic. Bali will still be there for the next time you want to visit.
