I know a few stories of people giving and not knowing that they aren't the only ones.............whilst having a drink at a restaurant with this very lucky Balinese recipient.........he was complaining that his windows were not in his house yet and the swedish friend had not sent the money for them,
i was getting the vibe he was hinting for help,,, I know that someone else was helping as well............ good luck to him he was getting a house built with the help of others.
My mother was in Bali with friends last august and got a long time friend of 22yrs (Balinese) to help purchase ceramonial umbrellas for her friend........ the friend had asked their driver to do the same (only met him 6mths prior)
The good long time friends price was 100,000 each (big profit)
New friend 35,000 (little profit)........... my mother was shocked ..
We have given this family so much paid phone bills , sent clothes ,, given brand new prams for grandchildren............
And she made a profit .......... You still must negotiate even with a good friend...........
