We have been to both a few times, & think Lombok will probably have a bit more to offer, although it depends what you like!
Lombok has more resorts set up with better facilities, & you can go on a few tours, like to the Volcano or across to Gili Islands, where as Nusa Lembongan I feel caters more for backpackers/surfers - around the No 7 area & up the other end - Nusa Lembongsn resort etc, is more for couples. I have hardly ever seen little ones there, we dont have kids tho, so hopefully someone will reply that can give you more info.
