we took them anylast november and they loved it, (2 boys - 5 and 7 yrs old). They learnt so much and it really opened their eyes to many things. We had tried to prepare them by telling them lots of little stories about Bali and the things they might see and taught them a few phrases and I think this helped them feel very comfortable very quickly, they didn't want to come home.

The best thing we have done is to sponsor a little girl who is 6yrs old (between the ages of our boys)and take the boys to vist her and her school. We were luck enough to meet with Novi and her family a few times before we left and although she doesn't speak english and my children don't speak indonesian they loved playing together. They tell eveyone that meeting her and playing with the other kids at the school was the best thing about Bali. We still can't believe at their age they say that - Novi even beat Waterbom Park!!!

We have aranged our sponsor through Rotary and it really doesn't cost very much at all so I think it is worth the money not only to help a child in Bali but to help our kids understand all the more about Bali and it's people. They now have a special friend they would never have met had we not taken them on holiday with us, she would have just been a photo and a name - now she is a special person to them (well to all of us).
