(firstly) I think your lucky to get any back at all, we payed our fare six month before the bubble burst ($4500) and it doesn"t look like we will get a cent back, now taxes, the way it was explained to me is although its called a departure tax its really a name give to a number of different fees all lumped together most of which covers the airport inferstucture (did I spell that right?) only a very small amount is acutually a tax at all, I have heard of no one getting any of this back but my intention is to see if my accountant can clain any back when he does my claim at the end of the year for taxes paid on goods not recieved, dont know if I will get anywhere with this but I will ask anyway.
