Hi
Not sure re 40ft as I only bring 20fts back into Port of Brisbane. There are a million and one Cargos in Bali .The best way is to go around and price a few and rule of thumb as with anything cheapest is NOT always the best. Be sure to ask regarding the schedules and that you want a direct ship not one that spends ages with a holiday stopover in Singapore. Also getv the cargo company to fax a quote to your hotel so you can see all the break down of costs. There are lots of liitle costs but the main 2 are local charges and then the biggy is the ocean freight charge for the shipping company themselves. Once in OZ you have your quaarantine and custom charges plus GST and duty on the goods you are shipping.
LIke everything in Bali you have to negotiate and play one Cargo of against the toher at times. We have been using the same Cargo for a few years but I still always compere with others to use as a negotiating tool with ours. Once again keep in mind CHEAPEST IS NOT BEST! Try for midways. Remember who you choose is going to resposible for the collection, packing and organinising of all your shopping once you have left Bali so you want them to be acting in your best interest!
My cargo company is Kune Bali and our person we work with is Oka... his no. is 081 238 13927 we find him very orgainsed , extremely reliable and prompt with anything we need both in BAli and once we get back to OZ. His email is kunebali@indo.net.id
Price we pd for a container in July05 was $2500 USD remember charges are in $USD for shipping. We are doing and LCL at the moment and it is $100 USD per CBM plus $135 of local charges for the shipment.
If I can be of any further help please email me direct tonik05@hotmail.com These prices are into Brisbane by the way. I always find the GST and DUty are the killer once back in OZ .
Cheers Toni
