I am married now for 10 years with a Balinese woman. Offcourse there are differences but it depends really on both persons. Myself adjusted to the balinese style. I became Hindu and also do all the ceremonies. You cant expect from a balinese to give up this because that will never happen. Also you must realize when you start a relationship with a balinese that you also start a relatioship with the family. A balinese will always support the family so you should also realize that. We are very happy as we both adjusted a bit, my wife to the dutch and i to the Balinese habits. We have two kids and they get the best out of the two cultures.
