We sponser/ support 5 people in Bali. 3 Childrens school fees, 1 old man with diabetes and 1 friend who will be coming back to Australia with us for a holiday. Only one person ask us to pay her childrens school fees the others we were moved to compassion and just offered to help. We are happy with our situation but I do wonder about the person who asked us for help and maybe looking at the situation when we go back in Feb. We always take gifts etc but last time I spent alot of money and effort to get different things and one of our Friends just looked at the gift and put it on the shelf! I brought him a birthday present and he just left it on the table and didn't even open it I was so dissappointed. This person rang us in Australia after one trip and wanted AUD$6,000.00 to get him out of a situation with the Bank, we never had this money and could not help but he rang a few times and begged us so I rang another person in Australia who knew him and they helped him out BUT he has never been the same to me since.
I guess we just live and learn.
