...don't become too absorbed in trying to have a baby and the whole IVF thing. I did and it nearly destroyed not only me but my marriage. Even though we learnt to live our lives for just the two of us as a couple - not much choice after 17 years - I must say deep down the yearning never really went away. But I did set a cut off age as a way to resign myself to get on with my life and not put so many things on hold for "just in case". It can be a lonely isolated road to travel if you let it.
No offence to Baz, but I never fell pregnant naturally and never could or will. If I could've fallen pregnant naturally or otherwise every time someone said just relax or other well meaning advice, I would have given birth to half the population of a small country. I'm so pleased it happened so quickly for your daughter, but fact of life is it just simply doesn't work that way for all of us and can be a painful fact that we must face.
Kathi - I sincerely wish you success with IVF. The success rates today are fantastic compared to 15 years ago, so the odds are on your side. I hope you give me a quick thought when you make that phone call and hear the good news - God Bless.
