each time we renew our travel insurance due to our daughter's peanut allergy, the fact that she carries epi-pens was the deciding factor. They told us that if she didn't carry an epi-pen she would be covered without this extra step. It's an application for coverage of a pre-existing condition and it warns that there may be an extra charge for coverage. We filled it out ourselves & sent it in for their specialists to assess & they replied within 48 hours. We were given coverage at no extra charge, which I didn't expect. The process for us was simple and had a very positive outcome, but I understand anyone being worried that it might not go that way. FYI our insurance is with QBE. As we take out an annual (family) policy we won't have to do this often. It might be worth considering an annual policy if you usually travel a lot. Cheers, Sue.
