My wife was the same when she arrived in Kalgoorlie. She couldn't believe how quiet it was & also asked where were all the people. & why didn't our nieghbours come & visit all the time. She also thought it was funny how quick we walk compared to Balinese like robots with something important to do. Not as many Balinese in Kalgoorlie ( in fact she was the second & since then there are now 5) but there are a few Indos & every month they get together for "arisan" & eat & talk all day.
The first week while I was @ work she actually cried a lot & was very homesick. But now she wouldn't trade her life in OZ for anything.We also try to get back to Bali a couple of times a year & have brought her brother & mum to OZ for a visit.
If I can I will try get her to do a BIOR ( Bali in oz report)
