I think it's an improvement from 2 years ago for us. 2 years ago it was Rum Jungle on the Right, Kusnadi on the left with a shared pool and the restaurant & bar run, I think, by Rum Jungle. Now it's all Kusnadi.
As I said we were in the new section built just off the left side of the restaurant seating. Previously we were in the Kusnadi only rooms on the left hand side and turned left. One of those had a leak in the glass tiles over the bathroom. <so what?> This trip I over heard one of the Aussies back in that area saying there was a leak and he'd like to move so that problem may still exist.
The new section was quite dry. We had our own water boiler and washcloths needed from a previous small room in BKK. The bed was fine. We're old enough to appreciate a good bed. <g> The TV does not have the extra international channels in the "Superior" room. The "Penthouse" does. I think what you call the top room out the back is one of what they call the "Penthouse" now. It's an interesting view up there.
No phone in the room we had but the staff is really good about messages and reaching us if there is a call. My US cell works fine for outgoing calls.
From 2 years ago I don't remember the small Spa just before the pool. My partner said they were much beter than some of the other nearby massages. She went several times.
The restaurant menu may be limited compared to when it was run by Rum Jungle. That's fuzzy in my memory. OTOH, when we ate at the new Rum Jungle Restauraunt now on ... um.. that street where Poco Loco and Nice Buns - the North/South street winding from Jl Padma to Jl Werkudara. Anyhow, at the new Rum Jungle I had my first experience with mild Bali Belly from bad fish. Tasted fine but the tuna steak I ordered was snapper. I should have sent it back when it wasn't what I ordered. He insisted it was Tuna! I know better. The greeter/waiter we remembered from 2 years before was so nice and so starved for trade that I didn't have the heart to send it back. We had a nice evening and I only paid for it a little bit the next day.
In any event, for US$25 to 40 a night (depending on season) it has a lovely setting and a really nice staff. What else can I tell you?
